When florists are setting up at your venue, they will often get asked by someone who is part of the day if there are any “extra flowers” to place around the venue, on the welcome sign, or add an arrangement to a table. ✨The answer is, if the item was not previously on the wedding flower order list, then we do not have it.✨ Florists purchase in bulk all the ingredients such as flowers, products, and materials to create an item for your day (Bridal Bouquet, floral arch, Isle flower etc.) The client purchases the item. Think about it this way…buying a taco at a restaurant. The item you’ve purchased is a single taco. It includes one shell, one scoop of meat, and one scoop of toppings. What wasn’t purchased by you was the entire bag of shells, full pound of meat, and whole bag of toppings. Ever seen the post note saying extra topping +$1.00 each on a menu? Same thing when it comes to flowers. Florists purchase their bulk ingredients to create items for the day and the rest becomes inventory. Lame analogy 😂 but it helps you understand a bit better ya? “When will you be arriving to set up on the day?” It depends on how many items you have chosen for your day and your venue. Every venue has its own policies regarding set-up time & pack-down requirements. This will impact what time we come to your venue. Don’t forget, your vendors need time at the location to set up before your day begins. Coordinate that with your florist and venue. ✨Typically, for a smaller wedding, your florist will arrive a few hours before the event to place everything and create any onsite installations. ✨ They will drop off all your personal flowers and celebrate with you for that short time before leaving before the event begins!
